Fifteen years deep into their rich and diverse career, the steel city song-smiths return home to celebrate their first number one album.

The band played host in the most literal way inside frontman Oli Sykes own restaurant, bar, venue, arcade; Church in the legendary Osborn Works in Kelham Island. Here, three sets of 200 lucky fans were able to meet the band and experience a rare acoustic session.

A handful of tracks from the chart-topping album “amo” were reworked live including “Medicine”, “Mother Tounge” and a rough attempt at album track “In the Dark” plus setlist staple “Drown”. These were all scattered throughout a Q & A hosted by bassist Matt Keane as the band talked about everything from the inspiration behind the album to Oli’s five-minute rant about dinosaurs.

Whilst the band may have transcended their original Deathcore roots and blossomed into alternative genre-busting juggernauts we have today, some fans appetite for the past never truly subsites. Whilst discussing the recent inclusion of older material into their set, the band reveals that some past gems will be making back into there set when they headline All Points East Festival in May. This is before they pretend to launch into the now infamous “medley” of early songs that were showcased on their last UK tour.

Bring Me the Horizon represent a band at the very peak of their game; constant reinvention, hosting their own events, showcasing their successful back catalog in their own space and showcasing Sheffield as the home of it all.
